How do web templates work
HTML code of web projects is generated through web templates. One template may be used for multiple projects and that is why it is vital for every template to be prepared for dynamic content and its universality ensured. Therefore there absolutely can not be any static texts or content. To be able to create and modify web templates basic knowledge of HTML and CSS are a must.
Web templates stand on two codes - HTML and CSS. The code of the template is further modified using macros in the form of HTML notes for dynamic content. When the web is loaded macros are replaced by specific content. Here you can find list of supported macros. The recommended macros are highlighted. If you abide by all univerzality rules and use all recommended macros, template should be prepared for any project.
Some of the macros are substituted by values from administration (site name, coour codes, fonts) another are generated using XSL transformation (menu, article list, products). Therefore it is possible o influence code during implementation.
Web templates allow usage of macros bound to specific project. These macros contain specific IDs (such as category ID for which specific bahaviour is required). Such templates aren't universal and have to be duplicated and modified to be used with other projects.
